TPVC establishes the Bobby Raymond Scholarship Fund
In respectful and loving memory of our long-time friend and customer, The Potter Violin Company has decided to found a merit-based scholarship fund to be administered by the Suzuki Association of Greater Washington. After consulting with Mrs. Ruth Raymond, it was decided that the fund should be offered to qualified students who have achieved Suzuki Book 4 or higher, as certified by their teacher, in the form of matching granted funds to enable qualified Suzuki students to attend the Suzuki institute of their choice. The Potter Violin Company will provide $500 seed money each year for the next five years (2011-2016). Applications may be made by the student, but must be signed by the parent and the teacher, and awarded by the SAGWA scholarship committee.
Additional donations may be made to support the fund at:

Instrument Donations
Nothing can compare to the satisfaction we get from knowing that, in some small way, we have been instrumental in helping bring music into the lives of so many young people. Our close friendship with members of the teaching community goes back more than two decades. It is our very distinct privilege to have been invited to so many institutes and workshops over the years. Below you will find a listing of some of the programs and associations we have been honored to be involved with as part of our community outreach projects.
We sent the students in the summer program at the Washington Conservatory of Music some stringed instruments so they could try them out for free. They sent us this charming photo:

Where possible, we have provided links for you to become better informed about how institutes and workshops may benefit you. We have also provided several links to offer you glimpses into the life of the shop and the wonderful people who work for The Potter Violin Company.
